As high-quality medical institutions in China and abroad, the three parties jointly designed a trinity, full-cycle solution by deeply integrating international prehabilitation concepts, high-level surgery in key specialties, and individualized postoperative rehabilitation. Through an international MDT model, surgical patients receive rehabilitation services across the entire care journey, forming an integrated pre-treatment-rehabilitation closed loop.
In 2023, the National Health Commission issued the Notice on Further Promoting Enhanced Recovery After Surgery. This strategic cooperation is a practical response to national strategy and public-health priorities. It further links rehabilitation with surgery and multiple clinical specialties, introduces international prehabilitation technologies and strategies, and opens a new collaboration model between public and non-public healthcare sectors.
Following the signing ceremony, Professor T. Rampal from King's College London delivered a themed lecture on Prehabilitation Plus for SIMC clinicians and patients, covering the current UK prehabilitation landscape, remote-treatment pathways, and case-based evidence showing how prehabilitation can improve treatment outcomes and postoperative quality of life.
As a non-public medical institution, SIMC continues to uphold its core mission of delivering care with compassion and high-quality patient-centered services while leveraging its international platform capabilities. This project marks the establishment of a full-cycle pre-treatment-rehabilitation system, with individualized pre- and postoperative plans to improve outcomes and quality of life, while opening more international care pathways for patients.
